Smart Meter Texas™

Energy Choice Experts uses your last 12 months of energy usage to determine the lowest cost energy plan for you. During the registration process you have the option to enter your usage, or select the Smart Meter Texas (SMT) option if you want to authorize Energy Choice Experts to access your usage data.

Once you select the Smart Meter Texas option and submit payment for your order, the authorization process begins.  Within the next business day, you will receive an email from SMT. Check your spam folder if you don't see an email by the same time the next business day.

With updates to SMT in late 2019, customers now do not have to create an SMT account in order to allow ECE to access their usage data. There is one simple step to give ECE access:

  • SMT Email Example - Open your email from SMT and click Confirm as shown below.

Additional terms of the SMT authorization are shown below. There are instructions on how to create your individual SMT account if you also want to view your 15 minute interval data and/or monthly billing data.

After confirming our energy data request, you will receive your energy analysis by the next business day.
